West Cork LEADER Co-op in conjunction with West Cork Pork & Bacon Producers held a seminar on food safety and traceability "From Farm to Fork". The seminar took place in the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery on Thursday 21st March at 8 pm.
There were three speakers attending the seminar. Mr Bill Cashman MRCVS spoke on "Food Traceability and the Movement of Food: - The Issues for Food Safety & Animal Health".
Dr Patrick Wall, Chief Executive of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, spoke on "Food Safety - Assurances for Consumer Safety and the Significance of New Regulations for Farmers and Small Food Producers".
Darina Allen also addressed the seminar on the topic of "Honesty in Labeling and Consumer Choice".
The evening, which was a great success, was co hosted by West Cork LEADER Co-op and the West Cork Pork and Bacon Producers.
